As you know, on April 12, 2008, the Fairfax County Republican Committee held its Convention in which we elected our Unit Chairman. Jim Hyland, the current Chairman was challenged by Kamal Nawash, a longtime Republican activist in Northern Virginia and candidate for public office in years past.
The Unit elected Jim Hyland its Chairman and for that we give a resounding congratulations to him for his victory. We also would like to thank Kamal for his run and we appreciate his years of service to the Party.
Please congratulate Jim next time you see him!
We also elected delegates to the 8,10,11th District Conventions and the State Convention. More information regarding that will follow.

Grats, Mr. Hyland. Now, respectfully, it’d be nice if the fairfaxgop website were fully developed, the county had a full time (even if volunteer) staff, and the phones didn’t hang up on you after 2 rings. Additionally, for any GOTV effort, come the general election, to be effective, we need to get lists of registered households and send the precinct committeemen out door-to-door to register unregistered Republicans. I understand that there’s a lot to do on the laundry list for the county party, and you’re a busy man, but hopefully, my constructive suggestions will be near the top of the list.
